Faith

Chinese New Year was over a few days ago, and this year, it was bittersweet indeed. As far as I'm concerned, it's to reunite the loved ones (family/lovers/friends) and show your love towards others, be it strangers or someone you know.

The sweet part was it indeed brought the family closer; The bitter part? Great grandma was admitted to hospital.

I'm not hoping for immortality, but I'm just not ready to lose her. Not yet.

It's been quite sometime now, and I'm glad God answered my prayers and gave her many, many more days. I can't be more thankful about that! But I admit there are times I can't get over it, and I keep it to myself, 'cause no one truly understands anyway.

Until I saw this video about a little boy, Logan, sharing that one thing God told him. Watch the video here

"My son is special, but he died for a purpose."

When you lose your loved one or your pet, remember that God gave his son too.

Moving on, was reading Katrina's blog and woaaaahhhh, someone's got a free hug hotline! HAHA. That's so adorable. =3

On a bleak note, was walking at the corridor at my apartment and found the 92874827482th uncivilised person who POURED water from upstairs and THREW THE BOTTLE DOWN after that. Learn your manners!

half-a-year

Half a year for what?

Today is the 6th monthsary to our relationship! :D Can't be thankful enough for this boy for tolerating all my odd behaviour for the past 6 months. I've already blogged about it in my private blog and showed him, so, I won't have much to annoy y'all today. :P

Continued my gym routine but went earlier today since the treadmill was occupied last evening and a couple of people were at the gym probably because it was off office hours. Sorry I'm a little anti-social at the gym. LOL.

I also went to the supermarket (housewife mode: ON) to stock up my tidbits and bread and chips. So much for going to the gym right?! Sorry not sorry. Diet is just not in my dictionary.

Managed to read novel and organise my bookmarks. Found these!

From my H&M denim jeans. Ain't it meaningful?

Oh yes. I was once a dumbass at school and they awarded me this, in HOPE I would get good results  in my finals. FYI, I've only got one A+ in trials, with the rest all A/A- and a B+ (for add maths, just 1 more mark to A-). I've got straight A's in SPM in the end (7A+, 3A-).

Moral of this photo : Never give up just because your trials ain't good enough!

My top favourite ang paos over the years. I noticed I like pinkish more than the red ones! (unless the design is attractive)

Finally got my hands on guitar after so long! Been wanting to learn Love Story and now I'm at it!

Swiss chocolate. It's got to be my favourite chocolate of all times!

P/S: Tearing up reading the post dedicated by Katrina! :') love ya babe.

Long holiday

This long loooooooooong holiday (since last Nov until coming Sept) is making me forget Monday blues, early wake-ups, homework, hassle to travel to and fro college and so on. I have mixed feelings. At times I feel great 'bout the holiday because, well, I did not have a long break after SPM 'cause I started college in January itself, but on the other hand, I'm afraid I may not be productive enough during the holiday.

Warning : Below is all about what I've done today, so if you're not interested, sorry I can't help it.

I've recently bought my running shoes and couldn't wait to wear it! Yesterday evening was pouring, thus, I tried it out this evening at the gym! It was a pretty productive session as I managed to do most of the exercises, besides treadmill though since everyone else wanted to use it, so I did run a short distance nearby the clubhouse. The shoes are light-weight and its rebound is fantastic.

Here's a self-portrait at the gym, a not-so-typical one.

and THIS, is my newly-bought Nike Lunarglide +4 Shield, love the details and colour combination!

Besides going to the gym, I managed to reread two books that I've put aside for quite some time. I also pushed myself to drink more water because I've been so badly dehydrated, it's quite an achievement because I BARELY drink any water at home. Sigh.

Collected some vintage cut-outs from magazines and brochures. I love 'em! I'm a sucker for vintage and hipster images.

Encouragement

Saw this on Tumblr while reblogging posts and thought it would be nice to encourage anyone at all. :D

Well, I do know how it feels like to doubt yourself if you're ever good enough for anyone/anything, and because of people close to me, they made me believe that if I did my best, it would be enough. I have a bad habit of belittling my efforts and used to spend hours and hours feeling guilty that I didn't do enough. In the end, I learnt to let it go. Rest assured, it would be the greatest thing you'd learn and it will save all the time you waste being upset over something that you can't change, and use it to focus on positive things.

Love of my life

So, 24th Feb marks his 19th birthday!

Words can't describe how much I'm in love with this boy. He's simply the most adorable, caring, kind, loving, -and the list goes on- person I've known.

He's opinionated, yet doesn't despise my opinion (Sadly I'm the opposite). Though many times I've misunderstood him but he has never been mad at me. He would always tolerate me.

He's adorable. He knows all the cute ways to make me smile/laugh. And I can't even stay mad with him :')

He's too kind but he learnt his lesson fast, and advises me all the time so I don't have to go through the same mess he went through. I had no idea how to accept the truth about this real cruel world (well, not entirely though), but he is always there to show me the way.

He's so easy to talk about anything with. From cars to sports, from food to fashion. I can't even list them all. He'd show me all the photos of fancy cars on Skype and made me fall in love with them, walk around shopping malls with me and talk about ANY brand we see, act silly with me and be serious when he has to (like chase me to sleep).

He's appreciative. He cherishes all the presents I've bought/made him, our moments together and probably my little thoughts about his safety.

I love the fact that we're so incredibly alike, it's almost like we're the opposite gender of each other! But at the same time, different in some ways too.

I also love how he always makes time for me. Thanks for showing me what love is, and now I can love better than I did. You'll always be my one and only Prince Charming!

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY AND 6-MONTHSARY IN ADVANCE :D

xoxoxoxoxo.

When sadness was the sea, you taught me how to swim.

23.02.2013

So, today, I celebrated boyfriend's birthday with him at Bukit Bintang!

Bought him birthday present a few days ago with Katrina while waiting for Huei to reach KLCC. I'm really glad he likes the present, because secretly, I like it too. LOL.

Brought him to an Italian restaurant that seems to be getting really good reviews by several websites including Time Out. Delucca, you guys should really check it out! The food they serve are superb. We were too full after finishing our brunch and couldn't try their tiramisu. It's alright, there's always next time, right?

Then, we walked around KLCC and Pavilion to find a pair of running shoes for myself. In desperate need to own a proper pair of running shoes for the upcoming run, Run For Sight! I can sense that it's gonna be a lot of fun!

Finally, my fussy self found a pair of satisfying shoes at Nike. Thanks to the boyfriend, I've got 10% discount, that really helped A LOT (this should tell you about the price). This awesome pair of Nike is nevertheless Lunarglide +4 Shield.

Add on : while blogging, I went to Starbuys website and saw Nike Air Max is on 52% discount! Gosh, it suddenly became cheaper than mine. Nike, do you have to do this to me? D: oh well.

About 6pm we had early dinner at Ding Tai Fung which offers really good xiao long pao (soup dumplings) and after that we left Pavilion to catch the LRT back home.

All in all, it was a great, great day with the birthday boy! <3>

Cute apple bun from Komugi shall end this post.

Gratitude / Photography 1.

How often do we show our gratitude towards someone? Be it people close to us or strangers?

We're all closely related to one another, life is just like a hierarchy isn't it?

Read this article, happened in Singapore, it's such a moving story! It's about a lady who had decided to bring an old, tissue-seller out for dinner despite his limping leg. Read it here.

People would stare, but I believe if you truly want to help or get close to someone, it's worth it.

Anyway, thanks the >3k views! I really appreciate it. Though I said views aren't my priority, I really hope I deliver messages through this blog! Little things such as events that happen in my life, I'm really grateful about them. And since I'm not tied by the strict rules back in high school anymore, I would like to share my point of view with you readers. Freedom of speech they say, but for the past few years I'd never had the chance to voice out all I thought about things. But dog days are over

These are the photos for Black and White

“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”
― Ted Grant

I personally find this quote inspiring.

The above photo was taken in Putrajaya. I was moved when I photographed it. Actually, I planned to take a candid shot of him focusing on his work, but when he noticed me, he posed for the camera! He was interested to know what was the photograph for. Although he wasn't very talkative, he made me realise no matter how bad others view your career, it doesn't matter, as long as you have the passion to do what you're assigned to, you would be happy. After all, happiness can't be measured by money.  Positivity.

And this cheerful fruit vendor. I love her smile. :)

Alright, I shall sign off now. Will update soon!

P/S: another black and white photo! This is my first sketch ever of my favourite movie, Up! Love the love story between Carl and Ellie.

2013 jar

I've finally got myself to fill up this 2013 jar which Katrina, Rachel and I had decided to do. It's a jar where you write all the good things that happen in 2013 and we will open 'em together on 2014 New Year's eve! Sounds exciting? :D got this brilliant idea from Tumblr! Here's a sneak peek of my 2013 jar, painted it myself.

Another update is my blog layout! I've added the iMade face image and a photography project. I'm pretty enthusiastic in photography and shall update some photographs I've taken/ going to take during my half-a-year holidays. Perhaps I will not be able to update according to the weeks, because, well, who knows I might get a better photograph later. You get my drift.

Realisation

Not sure if I realise this a little too late, or I often feel this way.

Some friends only look for you when they need you. I'm not good at expressing my feelings, but rest assured I try my very best to please everyone even though it may not benefit me, or sometimes it even troubles me. I've never told or complained to anyone about that did I?

I've never said that I feel left out or neglected or whatsoever, but I feel it's a little too much that you leave me behind when I've done pretty much for you.

Whatever said and done, 2013 is the year I shall prioritise people who make me their priority instead of those who seek for me when help needed.

Pinterest and LINE

Hello lovelies.

Recently I've made Glen (and maybe Katrina) addicted to Pinterest! To those of you who haven't heard of it, or haven't tried it out yet, I recommend you to give it a try! It's somewhat like Tumblr, but more organised in the sense that you can pin your interests onto the boards you create on your own. There are also secret boards for anything you wish to be kept private. I don't get paid for "advertising" it, but I'm super fascinated. I've also learnt a few things to kill time, following their step-by-step instructions. Here's a screenshot of Pinterest.

Another thing I've downloaded just this afternoon is LINE (after all, what's the use of an iPhone without apps right). I use Line Camera and it's a respectable app. Even more than I use Pixlr-o-matic to be honest. The stickers in LINE app are super-duper-wuper adorable! Here's a screenshot of LINE / Part I -silly conversation with the boyfriend.

Start of Wednesday

Hi.

It's amazing how I can always find something to talk about. Is that a good thing? :)

It's quarter to 1 a.m. and I'm here munching on a packet of Munchy's veggie crackers and tuna spread. These are my favourite snacks at the moment, besides Japanese beans it is. Oh, and I've succeeded in stopping my japanese beans addiction and I consider that as an achievement. I only ate a teeny weeny packet yesterday the whole day! Heh. Oh gosh. You don't want to know how much I had eaten the day before.

I find the weather quite unbearable these days. I mean, yes, it's cold due to the rain and hallelujah to the rain after a few really hot days. But after a few hours, it turns humid again which makes me feel feverish. Then it's cold again, I'm here chilling in an enclosed living room without any fan/air cond. I dread the fact that I have to enter an air-conditioned room later because my cold feet will worsen. :( oh well.

from the first till last year of teen

Nearly 2.9k views ;)

This post is dedicated to a friend I've known since thirteen until nineteen, from the first until the very last year of teen. and she is KATRINA. :D

We met each other in Bendahara marching practices. She is the most friendliest girl I'd known. She's always hyper and energetic whenever she's with people, a truly happy-go-lucky girl. It's such a blessing to have her around.

She's genuine. This society really needs more of people like her. She doesn't betray, she doesn't pretend, she doesn't judge her friends as well.

She's the most patient person. She'd never been angry or impatient with me. :D

She's the funnest to hang out with, we have endless things to talk about whenever we're out together. Not to forget all the crazy things we've done; pretended to be others on MSN, singing on Skype, went on adventures such as Genting, board game competition, marathons, hang out everywhere we can reach by public transport. I've learnt a lot from her about directions and public transport (I'm an idiot when it comes to directions LOL).

Thanks for being my friend, (6 years and counting)

Nike Run 2010, where we had to gather at 6 in the morning!

Board game competition at Times Square and we won first place :D we also managed to bring 3 Subway sandwiches back home for FREE!

Graduation 2011. This girl is so gorgeous isn't she?

Taken at BSC, our favourite hang out place back then during high school times!

Taken at some japanese restaurant which I can never remember the name. :P

Kat and her Tutti Fruitti! It's sucha pity that they close down the BSC branch.

 Random camwhoring session.

Genting 2012! It was pretty last minute plan but best memories always come from spontaneous events, right?

I shall end this post with the ever so awesome girl's photo.

Monday blues?

Note : I've just added Nuffnang Ads at the sidebar, so, spam those clicks generously! :) Thanks!

Surprisingly no, not for me.

Why?

*drums roll*

Because early in the morning Katrina whatsapp-ed me to tell me about there's an email from Seventeen. I went to check my inbox and it's a movie screening for Oz The Great and Powerful. Yay! So excited!

Little things that make my day such as grandma peeled mandarin oranges for me and have some time for small read. I'm really blessed :)

Currently addicted to eating japanese beans! I love them. Besides the wasabi flavour because I have no tolerance for spicy food :(

P/S: yay for low taxation in the future! I've always wanted that, worrying that next time I would spend beyond fortune for tax. Lol.

PPS : I love how friendly the waiter is at mamak near my house, he would even reconfirm my order 3 times! His attitude will get him far. :)

All in all, I really like friendly and polite people.

Uncivilised 2.0

Thanks for giving me something to post about.

Half way taking a nap, I was awaken by these noises; a host with a microphone speaking really enthusiastically, audience who are laughing uncontrollably and loud music through huge speakers. By the pool side. And my unit is facing the pool.

They overplay annoying music, like the chicken dance and gangnam style.

I couldn't hold it so I called up the guard house to see what others think bout it as well as to voice out my opinions; they shouldn't use a microphone here. It would be more considerate to use the multipurpose hall if you need to use the microphone and loud speakers. There isn't any plug near the pool for a reason. These gadgets shouldn't be allowed there! Apparently many others complained about it too and they've been warned, yet they continued with their inconsiderate act.

This reminds me of the polite awareness campaign by Audrey, aka fourfeetnine. We should totally join her.

However, whoever's birthday it is, happy birthday. Educate your people to be more considerate.

Pre-birthday celebration!

Hi, you.

Tomorrow is Katrina Yoong's birthday (spam her Facebook/ Twitter with your birthday wishes to her), Huei and I decided to give her a little surprise for the last year of her teen. Well, we planned two surprises but seems like one failed.

I've arrived KLCC roughly an hour earlier and got my plans going. Searched up and down for a perfect present but time was up. And by that I meant it was time I was supposed to meet her. So well, I didn't get the present :( I mean, what's the point of getting unsuitable thing for her right?

We spent about 3 hours roaming around Isetan in search for a birthday present for the boyfriend. Little did we know we would fancy almost everything in the men's section. Their bags seem to be the one we've been looking for in our favourite colour, their checkered shirts are somehow sexier and the list goes on. Sigh. Kat even wanted to be a guy for a moment. Good news is that she did not. :p went Little Penang for brunch. Try out their lorbak and pie tee! (Or however you spell it), good stuff!

About 3pm the princess arrived. So we met at Nando's. The usual, we had our late lunch.

Here comes the surprise! *drum rolls*

The waiters brought out the cake I passed them earlier in the morning without Kat knowing while singing the birthday song.
Well, they were inexperienced in this and they thought it was MY birthday.
I really hope Nando's can train their workers to at least understand English because it is the most used language after all by their customers!

Anyway, it was all good. Had Black Forest cake, caramel pudding and cappuccino mousse.

After that, we continued roaming around at KLCC and Pavilion ( Daiso ftw!) . Then, we went on an adventure. It's a surprise for the boyfriend :p. big thanks to Huei and Kat for walking miles with me. Now our legs hurt the crap outta us! I swear KL is as confusing as confusing can get.

Okay maybe it wasn't the real adventure for the day, I had a worse one when I came home. And it shall be kept as a secret! *seals lips*

So off we went to the monorail station, and we took the wrong train. Such geniuses. We deserve a round of applause! Finally reached KL sentral, we took the LRT and got down at the nearest stations near our homes.

All in all, it was a great and exciting day!

Here is some rants, if you're not prepared for it, then... You get my drift.

We saw various kinds of people here in KL. Thumbs up for the polite and CIVILISED ones but ngeh to those who shows rudeness in public!
There are people who :
• are able to earn money in all the right ways but decided to bring their kids along to beg on the street
• push you through as if you're invisible, WITHOUT APOLOGY!
• typical "people" who like to kitty cat call girls, and I consider it as harassment. It annoys the heck out of me because you have no respect for girls/women
• cross the road when it's red light
• still driving when it's red light while green for pedestrians
• goofing around in the middle of the road and laugh when the driver honks them. (WORST of all). Learn to appreciate your life, naive one.

Okay, I've done ranting but don't you agree with me? I'm pretty sure everyone of us encountered some sort of unpleasant events like this.

Signing off. Enjoy the photos!

New read

Went to Big Bad Wolf book fair last December and they have amazing books at reasonably cheap price.
(Hint: to those of you who missed it, there's gonna be a aftermath sale from 28th Feb onwards! )

I've finished reading 1001 Ways To Do Good and impressed with it. It provides relevant information and links which we can access pretty easily. The 1001 ways are little things we can do in daily routine. Why not? If you can make someone's day a little brighter by doing good deeds :)

Am currently reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. It's got to be one of my favourite books mainly because it gives me a different perspective about...well, heaven. Instead of what we always heard; colourful gardens where you can chill out peacefully with the ceased and look at people on Earth amusingly (perhaps worriedly) and etc. It gives a really vague idea. However, I'm not saying this book gives a REALISTIC idea but it does teach me a couple of life lessons. I love books I can relate to and I can gain more knowledge or realisation.

Grab the book if you get a chance to! :D

Here's a photo of my favourite paragraph in that book.

Valentines '13

It was the first valentine's day where I had a valentine to celebrate with!

It reminded me of how we used to celebrate it back in high school; clubs raising fund by selling roses, giving out roses or candies to close friends and if you were lucky enough, you may find a love letter under your table. But after all, it was pretty much just another day in school.

But yesterday was totally different. Glen and I got to hang out almost the whole day since 10ish in the morning until 8pm.

We were intended to go to this famous char siew place but it was closed, like duh. They want their CNY holidays still! So we left the place disappointed (not really, because it was valentine's after all :p). Since it started raining, we went to Centrepoint instead. We dropped by at Starbucks for awhile but I didn't feel like having anything there, (but I crave for it so often when I don't have the chance to go Starbucks) so we went to Subway to grab a sandwich. It was pretty good, or maybe I was too hungry. We hung around and had early dinner at the Waterlily.

It was my first time trying out Balinese food and it was scrumptious! The portions are huge too. Reasonable price for their portion :) romantic atmosphere and nice service. Couldn't be better!

I'm really grateful for everything baby. It wouldn't be so great if it wasn't spent with the person I love the most. :')

Reborn

Hello world.

Yes, I've decided to post my blog entries here and I will keep the older posts.

The reason to come back to this blog is that I've realised there are many, many amazing events which I would like to keep as memories and also, express my gratitude to those who are there for me through words (on this not-so-private blog which some of you already know). I'm not very good at expressing myself face to face so I hope this will do!

My primary intention is to blog to express, not impress. Here are my thoughts and I hope you don't take it to heart. And I don't really want to set my priority on how many views I get.

P/S: blogger app for iPhone is pretty respectable. :)
